A Great Start to a New Year!

January was a great way to start off the new year! Everyday was full of great music and films!

The beginning of the month started with finishing “Bilal’s Stand” a feature film from Michigan which went to Sundance Film Festival this year!

Also finished this month a short film called “This One is About Love” a great film with big hopes to becoming feature film trilogy all shot in Seattle!

Passion for Peril came out for their first studio experience and tracked two full songs which will be mixed in the coming weeks. Hope to see those guys again soon!

Wild Orchid Children came back out to the studio and finished tracking for their upcoming album Alexander Supertramp. It has been a long 9 months since they were last out to the studio, it was great to have them back and to finally finish what we started.

Jaded Mary came out and we tracked 3 songs and looking forward to mixing that in the coming weeks as well!

Thomas Hunter from Kay Kay and Wild Orchid Children, came out and tracked drums for his solo project. From what I heard the album is going to sound amazing! I look forward to hearing the album when it is complete!

Koozbane came out the last weekend of the month to track drums which they completed in 6 hours! Wishbone tore it up!

It was a busy month and a blast! Thank you everybody for coming out I hope everyone had as good of a time as I did. I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

A New Chapter

October was a great start to a new chapter at The Tank! We had a lot of talented bands come through with some amazing music.

Newton’s Law decided to keep their album as Tom had last touched it and I was given the opportunity to master the album.

Lorpan is now in mixdown and the album is sounding awesome! Everybody get ready for a rocking album!

Mosquito Valentine Trio cam back out to the studio and completed what they had started over a year ago.

Hands of Gabriel came out to the studio for their first studio experience and had an awesome time! It was a good time and look forward to their return to track some more songs.

Mark Miller finished off the month tracking Danbert Nobacon with The Bad Things!

Thank you everybody for all the love and support to keep this awesome studio going! I look forward to seeing all of you again and hearing the new music you bring!

A New Day

As most of you know by now we suffered a great loss here at The Tank. Tom is no longer with us and we’re left with a mission to carry on as he would’ve wanted us to.

The Tank opened it’s doors 6 years ago this October. Over the course of those 6 years there have been many amazing records that have come through our doors. Not to mention the countless stories, adventures and amazing feasts enjoyed by all.

Our mission now is simple… we carry on and we carry on with enough volume and force for Tom to hear us wherever he is. We are going to continue making great records here and we are going to continue sharing amazing experiences with one another and the Pfaeffle family. It’s up to us to give the story of The Tank a new chapter. One that would make Tom proud.

Whether you’re a band who has done records here or a producer who used our studio for your own projects or an artist who never had the chance to work here, we can’t express enough how much we want you to bring your projects here. With every project that comes out we get a little taste of Tom back in our lives.

Tim has been with The Tank since it was nothing more than a pile of wood and dirt and has spent hundreds of hours working with Tom in all types of settings. He will be helping manage things at the studio while we make our plans for the future.

Summer 2009

Things are cooking along- Just finished Dog Leg Preachers full length “Abscess” . The record kicks. Check it out on the bands site.

Finishing tracking seattle’s own ”Lorpan” , and about ready to start a full length with northwest artist “Random Manor”.

Atomic Bride has also released their CD which was mixed and mastered here at the tank , back to work!

2009 Beginnings and THANKS!

Coming up for air, Gasp.

2008 was a great year. Got a record, yes vinyl, on Alternative Press Magazines top ten albums of 2008 (Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground). everyone should own a copy of the rainbow colored double vinyl, rad.

The past few months have been crazy, The Bad Company 5.1 DVD is still in progress, Since October I have completed five CD projects (Billy Shew, Above the Water, Gin Betty, Revengers and James Hill).

So far this year I just finished mixing an EP for “Lizzie Huffman and her Brother” and started basic tracks with north end rockers “Dog Leg Preacher” fun times with these guys, we will be finishing up an EP or full length soon.

In this weekend are “Newtons Law” and late this month I will be finishing “Middstokke’s” EP and “Atomic Bride’s” full length.

Also in is longtime friend and past student Jordan Cumming with his band “The Sea Navy” finishing up their full length.

“Wild Orchid Children” are also due in to record their full length release soon as well.

Phew…

Fall Happenings

Things are crazy busy here – now in the middle of co-mixing with Jim Rivers the previously mentioned full length 17 song BAD COMPANY concert DVD which will be mixed in both stereo and 5.1 surround. Just purchased some new mics (Audix) and added a 52 inch LCD for post work and general entertainment. Finished tracking basics for a bunch of full lengths for seattle artists including GIN BETTY, ATOMIC BRIDE and GYPSY JAZZ QUARTET. Soon to be arriving are MIDSTOKKE to start tracking a full length . Finishing up THE BILLY SHEW band EP and soon to be mixing and mastering Revengers full length.

Bad Co 5.1 mix

Yes, lucky enough to have this project come through the door. Jim Rivers (Whitsenake, Motley Crue, Queensryche, Paul Rogers), is doing their live mixing and landed the gig to mix the live DVD and audio CD- Jim has quite a history as a killer live and studio engineer- welcome Jim.

Busy Times

It’s been a while- things have been crazy busy (it’s a good thing) I’m finishing up a six song EP from local artists Random Manor , good times with these guys, wish we were doing a full length- We will have songs up soon. Good friend Billy Shew is also coming along on his EP and I will be mixing it soon. Also just finished mixing two new Kay Kay songs for a 7 inch release and the new album. Things have never been better!! Hope all who read this are doing fine, it’s summer in Seattle, Whoo Hoo!
